In 1973, my journey in the world of building began, inspired by my Great Uncle, a Master Builder from Canada. His recommendation sparked a passion that led me to enroll in the first Builders Registration course at TAFE. This marked the start of a lifelong dedication to the craft.
Between 1977 and 1983, I honed my skills with three of Perth's renowned building companies. This period of growth culminated in 1984 when I founded Patton Building, embarking on what would become over 35 years of leading my own company.
My extensive experience in the industry has endowed me with a rich skill set, encompassing drafting, costing, scheduling, supervising, and construction management. These years have not only shaped my expertise but also my perspective on building as an art form.
Today, working alongside my son in Patton Building, I find a new sense of fulfillment. The joy of passing down my lifetime of knowledge and simultaneously embracing the fresh insights he brings is immeasurable. Together, we continue the Patton legacy, a blend of tradition and innovation, creating homes that are more than structures – they are embodiments of dreams and craftsmanship.

My journey began in the building industry as a carpenter where I worked for myself for several years before working as a supervisor for a Large Residential Building Company. I worked my way up eventually becoming the Constrution Manager overseeing the Client Relations, Supervisor and Maintenance Teams.
I sought to build upon the foundation my father had laid by infusing modern project management techniques and technology into our family business. My aim was to create a perfect blend of traditional craftsmanship with innovative building practices.
What drove me was not just the desire to construct homes, but to revolutionise the way we interact with our clients. I have always believed that transparency and education are key to empowering our clients, making the building process a journey of collaboration and trust.
Today, as I lead Patton Building, I am proud to say that we have become a symbol of architectural elegance and unmatched attention to detail. We have crafted homes that are not just structures, but true representations of our clients' dreams and aspirations. My approach has always been about blending the best of both worlds – honoring the traditional methods instilled by my father while embracing the advancements and efficiencies of modern construction.
My commitment extends beyond building homes. It's about fostering a transparent, educational, and client-focused approach. I often say, "Our job isn't just to build homes, but to guide and educate our clients, making their journey with us as enriching as the homes we build for them."

My entrance into the construction industry began in 2008, where I worked as a junior civil draftsman and document control administrator while completing my diploma in Civil and Structural Engineering at TAFE. This experience laid a solid foundation for my understanding of the meticulous nature of construction planning and execution.
Throughout my career, I've embraced roles that span from hands-on site labour to more strategic positions such as scheduling and supervising, eventually stepping into the role of Contracts Administrator and Relief Supervisor for a high end home design builder where I administered trade contracts and supervised homes over a 3-year period. Each role has been instrumental in developing my skill set, particularly in managing the complexities of high-end custom home construction.
What truly distinguishes me is my approach to communication and problem-solving. My friendly manner and ability to stay calm under pressure have always helped me build trust with both trades and clients, ensuring a smooth process for all involved.
I am deeply passionate about turning architectural plans into reality, witnessing the transformation of ideas into tangible, livable spaces. My commitment to enhancing the client experience through clear, consistent communication is a cornerstone of my work ethic, aiming to make the construction journey as transparent and stress-free as possible for our clients.

Before Jonathon joined the family business, he had the opportunity to immerse himself in one of the largest Perth building companies where he gained extensive business acumen under the mentorship of seasoned leaders.

When his loving mum finally passed away due to Alzheimer's disease in 2017, it was a hugely difficult time for his father.
